  • The right wing lap dance

Ten pax and 3 pups came to run or walk. About half did the prescribed lap twice while others had so much fun they did their own version.

Main course was all rights: right on pump, right on raintree, right at the new roundabout onto falcon bridge, right on pump, repeat. And try to go faster on the second lap dance. 4.5 miles total. I think everyone who did 2 laps improved their time the second lap. Yipeee! We are all winners!!

  • Lemon Poundcake

10 strong came out for the last crisp morning of spring. They were treated to a fascinating story of lemon poundcake. YHC was surprised not one PAX was following this store as he is fascinated by it. Do yourself a favor and google lemon poundcake. According to Afroman here is what went down.

Quick mosey to the base of the hill and back. COP- 20 each SSH, LBC; Willy Mays Hayes, 10 Each, Jim Duggan’s,  Jazzercise, Helicopters, Imperials Walkers, , Copper head squat, Cherry pickers, Merkins, Dollies, Flutters.

Mosey to top of hill. Big 4 corners. 25 Merkins, 50 LBC’s, 75 Squats and 100 SSH.

Triple check down the shortest road in New Market (which is still long). Hand release Merkins and dollies. 2nd round was plank jacks and SSH’s? Lunge/Mosey to turnaround. Stop tell the story of Afroman. Mosey through trail BTTF.

Always an honor to lead. YHC took us out in prayer.

Good work Snooki! Representing the Woodshed! With Globetrotter and Trespass New Market Village had more entries today than Roundtrey. I guess with no workouts those boys will be putting the round in Roundtrey!

  • Whitey’s on the moon…

A naughty nine showed up to RAMM, with one biker making an early presence. YHC received and earful regarding the amount of elevation on this week’s run…all extremely positive and well intentioned.

Pro tip: Magnolia leaves apparently serve as an ample substitute for toilet tissue…who knew?

  • Direct or Inverse Correlation?

Five posted to the Tomato Run/Ruck in Rutland on this Thursday morning. The 2 runners took off along the Bojangles loop running through the library parking lot Kroger Parking lot, townhomes, then the reverse Rutland loop and finally the Bojangles loop for 4.9 miles. The runners were unsure where the Ruckers went since they ran virtually everywhere that the Ruckers were supposed to be. There was a theory that they popped into a local household to drink coffee and watch the morning news.

COT: Numberarama, Name-O-Rama, Announcements, No Idea took us out.

    NMS:

It was on the chilly side today. Likely few of these cold morning remaining in the Spring season. The runners showed a negative slip throughout their run. It also appeared that the mumblechatter decreased as they went further. The question is: Is this a direct correlation as their mile splits were negative, lower mumblechatter or is this an inverse as their speed increased, their mumblechatter decreased? This is to be determined later.

Announcements: No Idea gave Wong’s Tacos 2 thumbs up.

The air was crisp and thick as 5 of SOJ’s finest came out to see what YHC’s return to the Q sheet had in store. Attendance was light but mumblechatter was heavy as these HIM’s went to work. According to the early arriving school personnel, this is what happened.

Mose around front of school to side bus loop.

COP- 20 each SSH, LBC; Willy Mays Hayes, 10 Each, Jim Duggan’s,  Jazzercise, Helicopters, Imperials Walkers, , Copper head squat, Cherry pickers, Merkins, Dollies, Flutters.

Old school Light pole alley. Start at both furthest ends and do 100 of called exercise on both ends. Reduce by one lightpole and by 10 exercises each round. Exercises were calf raises, LBC’s, Monkey humpers, Merkins, Drydocks, WWII’s, Not worthy’s. And a few I missed.

Ended with 6 minutes of Dojo Dan and BTTF.

Always an honor to lead. YHC took us out in prayer.

  • One Small Roll for Dice, One Giant Leap for PAX-kind.

As YHC was doing his biweekly calendar review, he realized his Q next week would more than likely coincide with the birth of his second child. Not ideal timing… so an audible was called. After some last-minute coordination with Snuff, who graciously provided both the speaker and a perfectly dialed-in space-themed playlist, a new plan emerged, a space-themed beatdown in honor of the Artemis lunar mission.

After a thorough warm-a-rama, the PAX moseyed to the amphitheater where we “took off”, rolling the dice to determine our fate, then immediately cashing it in with box jumps up the stairs and a lap around the amphitheater.

From there, we pushed onward to Mt. Chaplin, ascending higher using a variety of “transport methods”, everything from bear crawls to crab walks, broad jumps to Bernie Sanders. Each climb ended with merkins at the summit, as if the elevation alone wasn’t enough.

We finished with a light pole run, adding merkins at each stop, and circled up for core work, each man calling his own ab exercise to close out the mission. We ended with a great coffeerama about Impact and the people we touch in our lives.

  • Live Long & Prosper, Nanu Nanu!

5 funny guys found their way to Mary this morning, and we commenced a beatdown at 0530. To the disappointment of Oyster, no 4 Corners or 21s were to be found. Here’s what happened:

Exercise 2: Wing Nuts. Sitting on picnic table, feet under bench, leaned back to approx. 15 degrees with back and neck straight, fists touching in front of chest so that elbows point parallel with shoulders, rotate waist so that each elbow touches the table top. Complete in 4-count cadence.  3 sets of 10 IC.

Excercise 3: Dips on the bench. 3 sets of 10 IC.

NMS: Great field trip today. So much chatting!! Topics included: the heaviness and speed of EVs, humiliating public speaking moments, Small chapels made for squirrels to have church services, ripping pants, small dogs with small legs, and the perspective that being in space brings to one’s personal life and our collective existence.
