  • Parking ticket mystery solved

Five pre-sunrise warriors showed up and spent the first several minutes of the workout recounting how Bodo’s was stalking Faceplant at the soccer parking lot in anticipation of Faceplant finding out who put the parking ticket on his car.

Faceplant confesses to parking in an improper spot, but being a parking engineer Faceplant states that no one in the City of Richmond would ever enforce parking rules at the park.

After the pre-workout mumblechatter, we got down to brass tacks. With no Q on the sheet, the potato was thrown into the air and Bodo’s grabbed it and we were off.

Over to the picnic tables, for some stretching, and more mumble chatter, then we got on the picnic tables for a super ab workout. Next the potato was tossed to Faceplant.

There it was progressive merkins at each tree along the sidewalk on up to 10 merkins which got us to the blacktop. There we moseyed on over to the pull up bars for a Quint-check, Quant-check, Quan-check , or however you would call a triple check but with 5 dudes instead of 3, and we only do two rounds. Mix of merkins, dips, arm hangs, timer runs to the other bars and does two pull-ups, and then SSH.

Potato was then tossed over to Applesauce for four corners. How Bodos did not make us all do four corners is beyond me. That has been his go-to since the dawn of time. Four corners was good.

Then Swirly wrapped us up with a quick real triple check breaking into two teams, one with five and one with three.

Back to the flag by 6:15, where we did names, numbers, prayers, praises, and an impromptu discussion on the future of humanity and AI.

Big thank you to all that came out this morning, YHC truly appreciates what each and everyone of you bring to the table. An even 12 showed up which perfectly aligned with the game we were about to play. A lot of familar names from the first workout were there compared to my 1,000th. That is amazing to see!

It was fitting that 45MOM was the first workout I attended, and it was also where fittingly my 1,000th post was (at least per big data). Hat tip to Splinter for his Big Data Machine!

YHC checked the workout from many years back and it was sure intense thanks to Lockjaw, which ironically his first workout anniversary was on the same day as YHC’s first workout. It went down like this today on a hot a soupy morning:

Warmup – stretching and discussion. Maybe more discussion than stretching but it was good.

Next we moseyed on over to the tennis courts for the main event:

    Rules of the Game

Break into two teams. The game runs for 15 minutes, with a new exercise every minute for the PAX staying at home base.

A cup rubber bears is placed at the opposite end of the tennis courts. The goal is simple: your team wants to finish with the most bears.

    • One teammate stays at home base doing the exercise on the board while the other runs to get a bear.
    • To take one bear from the cup, complete 1 burpee.
    • Run the bear back to your team and complete 1 burpee to deposit it.
    • Switch with your partner, who repeats the process.
    • After 5 minutes, stealing is allowed. Instead of running to the cup, you can steal one bear from the opposing team. It costs 5 burpees to steal the bear, plus 1 burpee to deposit it with your team.
    • Once the main cup is empty, the only way to get more bears is to steal them from the other team.
    • Keep going until the 15-minute clock expires.

Team with the most rubber bears at the end wins.

We played two rounds and mixed up teammates randomly for the second round… Interestingly enough Senior Frog won both times. Thank you all for participating in YHC’s games. Over these years if there is one think you may have learned about me is YHC LOVES a good competition. Maybe some rules were bent this time but that is what YHC loves about this great thing we all have.

After it all ended, mosey back to the flag, for prayers names and numbers.

    Announcements:

Convergence this Monday (PARK in the big parking lot where they do the south of the James farmers market)

Prayers: For friends of BT who’s kid is still in the hospital after an incident.

For our PAX battling stomach cancer – see post from Corned Beef with an update.

    YHC took us out!

Thank you all for the opportunity to lead and be a part of a great thing!

Guess YHC should also thank Handshake for extending an invite many years ago.

  • A.D.D. Anyone….?

A formidable Five gathered around Mary to participate in light calisthenics.  What they received was a different matter:  copious amounts of burpees and merkins.

NMS: Due to the pax focusing their attention on other unrelated matters, there was little time or opportunity for YHC to administer his repertoire of NSFW Bob Einstein jokes. Maybe next time…

Good work out there today fellas…We hope Bodos made it home before the levee was breached…

  • A man walks into a confession booth…

A tenatious 10 descended upon Mary to explore her inner regions. Here’s the thing…YHC had planned an off-campus workout with coupious amounts of running. However, a pair of jerusalem-gliders and a hip replacement offered a subtle hint to keep it local….YHC realized an audible was in order:

    • Old Hundred with 1/4 runs around the track..
    • Triple Check (b-to-wall, WWII, bear crawls and run out and back)
    • bear crawl and crab walk back and forth across the court, while partner runs and out and back
    • 5 minutes of Mary and a ring of fire – Merkin style…

  • Playground Games

The call was put out and 7 curious jeopardy contestants showed up to see what games YHC had in store. Saab was stalking the tennis courts pre workout and caught YHC planting some workout props.

Started with some much needed stretching, all the sound effects were there for the stretching routine. Then we moseyed over to the tennis courts for the fun.

It went like this – while downrange visiting F3 in Southport, NC YHC was introduced to this workout. It requires a coin and a whiteboard.

flip the coin and listed on the whiteboard is ten rows, in each row there is an exercise get heads do the heads exercise get tales do the tales exercise. Every other round run to the end of the tennis courts. Get to the end of the list – we got to finish the ones we didn’t flip so dig deep into the memory banks to do the remaining exercises all together.

After that we took another mosey around the track over to the smooth cool concrete of the covered area for Mary, becuse YHC is a benevolent Q, and didn’t want to subject the pax to the rough asphalt of the parking lot.

Names, announcements, and prayers, and YHC took us out.

Don’t forget to take a breaking break sign up!

  • Who needs Circus Maximus anyway?

Six men decided to brave the rain storm and see what Señor Frog had planned with his super lubed up CR rings.

COP- Standard warm up with introductions & disclaimers.

Mosey to Pull-Up play ground for 12 pull ups, Merkins & squats.

Mosey to tree line for Squats, Merkins & Scissor kicks.

Mosey to play ground for some partner Jerkins.

Burpee each tree to front benches for a few dips.

Mosey to parking lot wall for last man standing balls to the wall. *Special Mention to Vandelay for winning. He made Nacho proud.

Mosey to starting lot for some Mary until time was called promptly at 6:15AM.

    See Slack for announcements.

No Prayer requests at this time. I guess all is right in the world….

Thank You WoJo for praying over us. You could give Bodos a run for his job. Well inspiring words of wisdom.

    FROG OUT.
