With no one on the Q sheet, YHC offered up a hot potato run. With no takers, YHC called Reverse Carillon and off we went. The weather was toasty and unseasonably warm. The rain held off due to another successful no rain dance. Bodos took us out.
The 530 crew header out Hamilton to Westwood and hang a left. Westwood turns into Malvern. 4s take Malvern to Grove and back to the AO with 5s hanging a right on Patterson, a left on Lexington, and a left on Grove. The crew took a sidebar to admire the Carvanna facility and search the pockets for some change to get a car out of the machine. YHC took us out.
9 frosty harriers braved the sunny and 70 degree weather to take on the tundra. YHC memorized all the routes, despite not ever remembering a route that is told to YHC. It went down like this There was a crew of long distance folks that got out early 3 milers, well there were no 3 milers but YHC had a route planned just in case. 4 milers- west on Grove, right on Granite, Right on Patterson, then right on Westview, then left back on Grove, take a left on to the Lexington/Albemarle loop and do one loop, then get back…
Wow! More people were on the 0500 departure list than the standard 530 launch. Well done for all of those seeking extra miles in the gloom! For those on the 530 departure, we went west on Grove and a right on the access road in front of the churches. Take a right on St Chris and a right on Patterson. 4s turn right on Westmoreland, 5s on Malvern, and 6s on Nansemond – all returning on Grove to the AO. Faceplant got slightly lost, but just as confident in his ability to get lost, he was equally capable of finding…
18 or so runners cruised the early morning streets of Richmond in search of some miles. A good time was had by all and Upchuck took us out. Routes were through Windsor Farms and back out to Patterson and a meander back to the AO depending on the mileage.
13 runners of all different paces, distances, and start times launched for the final run for 2021. Routes cruised through the museum district to Byrd Park and back. Marv took us out. Thoughts and prayers to Marv and his family.
Hoping to see some holiday slights, off we went on our light tour of Monument. Commonwealth to Monument and head east. 4s turn at the Blvd, 5s at Allison, and 6s at Stuart Circle all returning back on Monument and take a left on Sauer to Grove. Bodos took us out in style. It was great meeting up for coffee afterwards with such a large group. The workouts and the second Fs build a strong camaraderie that YHC is thankful for everyday, but especially this time of year.
It’s spring already? Off we went to Scott’s Addition via a passage down Commonwealth to Monument to Roseneath. 4s hang a right at The Veil on Clay, right on McTavish, Tilden to Kennsington to Patterson, to Commonwealth to the AO. 5s and 6s continue on Roseneath and a right on Norfolk, and a right on Blvd. 5s bring it home on Kennsington to Patterson to Commonwealth. 6s head down to Byrd Park, a right on Shepard to Grove and home.
