30 minute trail run prior to Rock N Roll

Two gloom brothers met up for a ruck around the dark trails of Rockwood. Nearing first place for the most posts in the last month (thanks BD), House Party took off like a racehorse out the gate, instantly making YHC wonder just how much horsepower is in a HouseParty. This HIM was practically jogging with his ruck, and actually did jog for the trail downhills. Awesome conversation as always, but tough to maintain when your gloom buddy is gassing you with his ruck speed! Pretty sure we need to double his ruck weight! YHC split to go do family pictures…

YHC started running at 515 with the goal of picking up some runners and Ruckers at 6am. The F3 parking area appeared to be empty, so I pushed on for 9 miles total. Had to say hello and bounce as Purple Rain and company arrived for the bootcamp. Sorry I missed it!

13 lucky brothers accepted the DTH call to celebrate the DTH/Draper 6 year F3versary – 11 rucking, 2 running. Here’s how the 11 hefted PAIN around Rockwood: The THANG: With final ruck lending/situating complete, Chaplain and House Party taking off for a romantic jog around campus, and rucker headlamps ON, the PAX took off at a brisk pace down the gravel road to The PIT. The PAX arrived to find the gate open and logs uncovered, they chose PAIN (14’ telephone pole size log), leaving CHAOS with the stack of 6-8’ cabers. YHC provided a brief welcome and disclaimer -…

After contemplating staying in bed, YHC decided to head to Rockwood Park for Morning Wood in an effort to keep the running momentum going. Solo run this morning so YHC had to dig deep since the norm is running with at least 1 other Pax. Managed to complete 4.9 miles before Lurch’s VQ. House Party

A terrible backblast title…….but an excellent workout this morning! Draper and I hit the streets at 6am sharp. The route took us through the paved trails, and we made a stop at the lake to check out the sunrise. Lots of large birds about! Excellent conversation with my WEAG brother. SYITG

No runners today – but luckily I always have my ruck loaded and ready to go. 3 distinguished gentlemen hit the surprisingly busy streets of Rockwood Park at 6am sharp. We did the full paved nature trail and approximately 2 laps around the main road. Great conversation that included the Tarrington neighborhood; which inspired the backblast title, as well as alcohol (types and where to consume). We had a quick pace and the sweat was flowing with the high humidity. The PAX made it back in under an hour, just in time for the Boberry/Rubble beat down. As always, it…

When I arrived, the gates were unlocked which means no issues getting to where we should be. A few people out getting their morning walks in, I had an idea for something yet I was solo, it needs a few others to be worthwhile of a workout. I decided let’s run, see how things are and get ready for later. I took off, felt good worked on just simply getting into a good pace and not trying to go so fast that I “blow up” which is a term for the adrenaline to shoot high, then crash and you have…

Yes this morning unlike last week when I arrived, the gates were open and the people were starting to get their Saturday walks in. YHC arrived, a few minutes later Chaplain arrived so just the 2 of us. We took off, 3 laps around the park the first mile at a good pace, then we cranked it up hitting an 8:35/mile as we finished the final lap, over to the woods for a bodyweight 300 routine. 10 pull ups, 20 steps up(if you can do them on the bench in the woods, the parking lot ones no problem), 30 scrunchie…

Big Rig was completing things, I showed up and the gates were locked(irritated) which they are unlocked why they are locked at this time beyond me. The 2 of us ventured my idea was 3 laps around the park, stop.. a round of BLIMPS… then another 3 laps. We took off, going at a pretty good clip I was hanging with Big Rig cause between the 2 who’s the runner(he is). We had to go down and round the gates after 3 laps, time to do BLIMPS(burpees, lunges, imperial walkers, merkins, plank jacks, squats). We were soaked after the blimps…

ONE Pax lined up at the start of a steamy morning, Rockwood Park-style, for the latest edition of The Clinic Morning Wood. Temperatures were 70 and sunny. According to the walkers sauntering counter-clockwise around the loop, the following might have happened. Arrive 5:45, having scouted the AO on Friday. Proceed to the new meeting spot. Plant the flag. 5:50. Stretch. 5:55. Listen to the crickets. Stretch. 5:59. Really? Not one guy? No worries. The Clinic takeover has begun. 6:00. Run the loop. Start with the Solid White Dash loop (or, YHC thinks that’s the one). Route: Head from the parking…
