Three shock-proof men looked out the window and said, “Lightning? What lightning?” And also, “Plan? What plan?” After a staggered arrival which saw Helix initially depart for a solo Murph before coming back for the latecomers, the PAX decided on a hot potato, and off we went. Here’s the best I can remember: COP: some of the usuals like SSH, merkins, etc. But also featuring an un-named hip mobility exercise Helix came with. By this point the rain had let off, and we were all proud of ourselves for how right we were to show up. Mosey to the bus…
In anticipation of the Daville V. Lumberyard showdown that never was 🙁 , we ran 3 different frisbee drills today after a 15 min COP session. COP was your standard warmups and dynamic stretches with 30 Merkins thrown in, followed by a two lap “breakaway” sprints on the track. First 300 M is a standard run, with the final 100 straightaway dead sprint, rinse and repeat. Somehow, P Diddy’s baby oil became the focus of conversation in the midst of all of this, and now we know Yardsale has a great disc toss thanks to his lean and well oiled…
2 Lumber Dawgs embarked on a journey of Pine Fork Park to see all it had to offer. With nothing planned but some mosey time, YHC decided to make it a randomizer of exercises within travel time. At least that’s what I thought might happen when I was lying awake in bed at 6:15 listening to the thunder and sweeping rains outside. Of course, the forecast I consulted before signing up for the Q was wrong. But this is F3. And thunder can’t strike anyone. The show must, and will, go on. At 6:57 it seemed a self-beatdown would be the day’s order. But the Wrangler with tinted windows next to me suddenly showed signs of life with Tin Man emerging to join. On the horizon an F3 institution came into focus through the gloom; House Party, beams of light radiating from his silhouette, set down…
Picked up Q 10pm night before so didn’t have time to plan a route.. 7 pax joined up for the out and back on Ridgefield. Easiest route in all over F3. (somehow Doozy got lost last time). Woodsman and I agree the only 2 from F3 that I saw at Brown’s Island this morning. We were delayed 30 minutes due to the earlier storms butt no matter, able to still get the race in. The trails overall were still in good shape this was my first time running this race(now it’s on the list too repeat). I used today for training three one rough part was going up Forest Ave park that hill was brutal(need to go back train more there as I get ready for Spartan later this year). Since Attila has finally gotten some respect, we had pre-workout music: RESPECT by Aretha Franklin! We started out in the parking lot and began with the Standard Disclaimer: (Especially important because we had an FNG, headlocked by a combination of Tater, Blue Moon, Pinto and Gypsy at poker.) Always 70 degrees and sunny. YHC and Hitch enjoyed a walkabout at WDog running down to the toll booth parking lot where we did a basic WARMARAMA. Mosey up into the very nice neighborhood…partner up and run the circle while partner performs Merkins, then another round with LBCs. Mosey up to circle by Carillon for alternating Polar Bears and Lunges. WWIIs up on the Carillon then mosey back to the flag. A fair bit of running, but the humidity was there. Keeping WDog AO alive!
YHC grabbed the Q early this morning with an idea to use some implements that have been taking up space in the car without much use recently. Only 2 other PAX, so we grabbed 3 of the implements of woe – jump rope, and 2 KBs, and made our way to the sidewalk of the newly lit school. That is, of course, after a proper lounge warm up in conversation. Triple checks served up – KB swings, curls, jump rope x 50 as the timer. We were working so hard we disturbed a frenzy of early morning ants and we…
