A swarthy seven stomped around Bon Air in the post-rain gloom. Conditions were wet and nearly 70. We welcomed Bru and Coon Bait (downrange from F3 Bruco) for the first time! Some wanted to say Bru was the upgraded Sable, but we’ll wait until next week when the two Africans can square off and finally meet. We ventured all the way down McRae to Casa de Snuff where we stopped for a couple of stretches and the customary monkey humpers in the driveway. Sleep well sweet Snuff. From there we circled back through the Bon Air Baptist parking lot where…

YHC was awake at 5:05am to take on the ruck workout for this am, pouring rain. Checked the radar and looked promising at 5:30am for a ruck journey. Load up in the car arrived at the parking lot, rain stopped, was able to load up and outfit myself then placed rain jacket over all gear for a semi dry effort…sweating was a plus. With no-one else posting I decided to do the Giles loop. Wore the headlamp to the bottom of the hill and return through the wooded trail and it was bright enough that no headlamp was needed. As…

Two of us braved the wet trails this morning to sink or swim. We knocked out 3.5 miles with weight on our backs. Why make life easy? Spent the time solving all of life’s mysteries parenting, self-discipline, hiking strategies, and of course how women are obviously the superior species. Shoutout to Friday for showing up! Turns out we both enjoy suffering in nature. Don’t waste the day!

4 of SOJs RH regulars pulled up to EBs at SP @ 4:59am meaning it was on. Light banter and the the joys of parenting kept us engaged as we explored some new territory. YHC really appreciates the opportunity to get together with a group of men who are looking to make each day a little better for their families, their friends and community. Coffeerama was a little less focused on our chapter this week but we had reviewed plenty of the content from past weeks as we caught up on our ruck. Till the next one. Announcements….check slack for…

9 HIMs came out to show Alamo is more than a parking lot! Left the stop sign right at 5:30 and made our way past Matlock house and his hoarding neighbor. After a quick game of Frogger, we reached the back pond and took advantage of the sunlight to go along the path and eventually up Mt. Dora. with a quick pace we made it to the reservoir for a foggy stroll with the smell of honey suckle serving as a nice change of pace from the sweat smells. We relived CSAUP, spoke about an event on September 26 (save…

What a night!! A grand total of 39 hard charging dudes, or crazy MFers, depending on who you ask, saddled up for some or all of the Century 2.0. 3 teams of varying regionalities filled their vans up with supplies before 6pm on Friday night. Don Draper rolled in with a brand new Mercedes Sprinter van that inspired a new team name, Team Diesel. Van 4 carrying Team Boberry and the New Day (BND) rolled in hot with the crisp sounds of Yacht Rock as the instructions were given and the first runners, Focker, Gecko, Wet Bandit, and Heist, were…

A slick and stylish six embarked on yet another trip around the Stony Point fashion park donning the seasons’ hottest rucksacks. Tales from the Ragnar trails were shared by Sable, Purple Rain snuck in the fact that he just turned 40 (no more hate!), and many other stories were shared as we covered roughly 3.25mi in 65 minutes. April is one of YHC’s favorite months for several important reasons. In no particular order April marks the beginning of baseball season, the month I became a father, and playoff hockey! YHC had the pleasure of sharing with the PAX the headline…

The Magnificent 7 of RounTrey went rucking this humid morning… all wearing lighter clothes except for one wearing pants and another wearing a “hoodie” … strange. We rucked 3.42miles at a pace of 17:40min per mile. I think the warmer weather, since some of us read the weather reports before going out, got us moving faster than normal. We talked about many things, went down memory lane with Flyboy on the house that flew away with his … innocence, the meaning of “Pountrey”, 100 men vs 1 gorilla (which could be the meaning of Pountrey LOL), then a shark, tiger,…

3 of us came out this morning moving some iron. On our adventures out we spotted two shady looking rides in the back lot with some young kids who clearly weren’t there for the ruck. So we did the responsible thing and called it in. Apparently the local cops hit snooze on their shift, and the suspects made a clean getaway. We still cranked out a 5K with some extra weight and got treated to a beautiful sunrise!

Blank Q sheet this morning, yet six adventure-seeking studs answered the call of the wild. Because I had personal guilt for avoiding the Q at Ruckhenge many times, despite it being a regular weekly post of mine, I was the first to cave at 5:30 and led the group on a hot potato to the trailhead by Trader Joe’s. I hiked us halfway in and NTB got us back out (shared Q, thank you NTB!). Great conversation abounded as it always does.    We covered just over 3 miles. Lots of altitude variance. A great discussion afterward on raising children, an ancient and confounding balancing act. Thanks everyone,…
