Definitely not sunny but not far off 70. We still had a great time despite the woods of Larus not providing much if any cover from the deluge. Was great to have 4 brothers out to ruck this morning. Bring a towel for the ride home!
When I was in Charlotte and it rained, there was one person who always asked if the ‘Dry Package was Installed’. Today, we installed the dry package and went to the Dave and Buster’s parking deck. Yes, we drove there. By the way, Jim Thorpe’s birthday (AKA: Wa-Tho-Huk, May 22 or 28, 1887) might be today! Thorpe was an American athlete who won Olympic gold medals and played professional football, baseball, and basketball. Often considered the greatest athlete of the first half of the 20th Century. And congratulations to Lighthouse who got a paper published on the effect of more…
A couple of stallions joined YHC as he kicked off training to PR his mile time by year end. As the pax joked ‘I think we’re getting wet,’ the downpour turned torrential. We did brocode to the Midlo High track, then it was each man for himself for 800 repeats, then back to the flag – all totaling about 4.5 miles of exhaustion. Numberama, Namerama, YHC took us out. Prayers for Hermey’s upcoming surgery. We immediately scattered like water drops on a hot skillet, as if the rain could get us any more wet.
As YHC drove to the Green mile we contemplated doing the workout in my garage and wondered if anyone would be present on a moist morning. We were in luck as a basketball team showed up to see what the Green Mile had in store for them. The mumble chatter was strong this morning as we discussed 8 tracks, CD’s, Cassette tapes, etc. as the tunes blasted. Warm up: Usual stuff. COP: To various song, perform various exercises. YHC quickly took us out in prayer.

5 wet bandits made their way to the stop sign today. Some dawned umbrellas, some embraced the rain in a more natural way. 5:30 off we go Did the typical route through the hilly part with a brisk pace. We managed to make it past Toby’s house before any HR violations. Topics today were Holly Madison, what age is appropriate for Jurassic Park, the importance of submarine regulations, and TSG found out that Flyboy is the Bubba Gump of Midlothian golf courses. rain was consistent but couldn’t hold us back!
8 Steeds lined up to pay the toll at No Toll but one Clydesdale couldn’t raise his frame above the bar. Machismo had the Q as called by 9pm the day before. Pax moseyed to the tennis courts and under the memorizing impact of mumble chatter and the sunrise lit water tower, no one could keep in cadence for the classic SSH. There was talk of mutiny. YHC continued through and moseyed to the routines. 1st Quatro de Checko really just 4 guys in a triple check and a partner. Merkins, squats, run across the field. Thang 2: Dora: 100,…
