Decided against seeking shelter and instead chose to embrace the suck, which was due to plenty of rain from tropical depression Chantel. Take a field trip and Mosey to orthopedic parking lot in Green Gate. COP: Arm circles, cherry pickers, DQs, SSHs, Mt. Climbers, WWIIs and Merkins. The thang: Since we were already completely soaked at this point, why not roll around the entire parking lot. We lined up at the base of the lot and Hopped to the next parking space and then did 3 merkins on each white line. To get back, lunge and do 5 FMs. Then…

YHC has a little nasty hill he likes, but I save it for special occasions (i.e. Nightmare Before Christmas) and today was a good day to revisit…not too hot, not too cold. Futon pointed out that the clouds were parted with a little bit of sunshine coming through above the hill, it was destiny today. Quick mosey through the bunker, up the stairs (watch out for mud) and we did a series of butt kickers > high knees > karaoke rotating at each mailbox. Quick stretch sess and we hit firecracker alley 1>2>3>4>5>4>3>2>1 at mailboxes. oh hey looks, there’s a…

4:24 YHC rolls over to see he had 36 more minutes of sleep left, so YHC put the phone under YHC’s pillow so the alarm wouldn’t wake up his M. 5:27 YHC wakes up and realizes the sound on the alarm never went off and YHC was the Q. YHC gets to Hoedown as quickly as possible wondering if he will be able to find everyone. Luckily Bodo’s had the thought to go over to the Third Church parking lot for a COP since he knew YHC was going to head for the Coupons YHC caught up with the guys…

Four upstanding citizens gathered for an unknown, unplanned beatdown. It went pretty well… Opus got things started with a COP that included some exercises made up on the spot, like leg swings. Mosey behind the school for some pole smokers, and then time for a Dora: 100 donkey kicks, 200 squats, 300 LBCs. Q tossed to Mr Holland. In what has started to become a Saturday Standard, the PAX did a couple of laps around the bus loop, pausing at each opening in the fence for a set of exercises. Each man took turns calling the exercise and the number…

12 HIMs were unfortunately unable to make the trek to the 4th of July F3 RVA Convergence, but still wanted to go through a beatdown to make room for the food and drinks at the day’s festivities. Toby, Matlock and YHC decided to put together a little workout that went something like this… Toby Q – Warmup: Mosey down the path by the dog park and to the cul de sac, then back to the parking lot for exercises including SSH, Imperial Walkers, Deadman Hang, Cherry Pickers, Freddie Mercuries and ABPs COP 1: Cindy work in the parking lot using…

Pine Fork Rd kinda reminds you of Adriana going on a “little ride” with Uncle Paulie Walnuts, but opens to a beautiful wide-open park, where the Lumberyard locals greet you with a smile, a fist bump, and some logs rather than a bullet to the back of the head. Here’s what transpired after today’s little ride: Mosey around parking lot 1 COP (IC) SSHs x 70 or so Dead Man Hang Imperial Walkers Hillbillies Plankorama Hand Release Merkins Couple others hits UpChuck Q Mosey to parking spaces and spread out In a clockwise manner complete 3x3x3 (Merkins, WWIIs, Squats) at…

6 men sauntered forth in the latest edition of The Dogpile. Temperatures were 70 and sunny. According to the ducks on the pond, the following might have happened. Nancy Lopez led the COP, including Jazzercise. ‘Nough said. Mosey to Burpee Lake. 10 Merkins, 20 something, and 30 something at every light post. It’s not my Q, so who knows. Also, Pax counted variously 24, 27, 29, and 30 light posts. For a group that has trouble running in a single file line (“Native American run”) for more than 100 yards, this is about right. Mosey back to Park Ave. More…

7 HIM’s converged at Rockwood for a ride on the pain train, which in YHC’s estimation isn’t nearly as brutal as in past years, BUT plenty of reps nonetheless. Here’s how we crushed the comfort zone for the day: The THANG: WARMERAMA: Mosey loop around the lot and circle up Welcome & Disclaimer A myriad of IC Reps to get all body areas sufficiently warmed up KILODORA: Partner Up, with one HIM doing reps while the other runs the lot and back to switch x100 No Cheat Merkins x200 Heels To Heaven x300 Squats x400 LBC’s CABER SPRING CLEANING: Mosey…

You can tout your fireworks or drone displays all you like, but nothing beats a glorious sunrise on a fine summer day. Five HIM’s got in a few miles under ruck-weight, and concluded with a ceremonial uncovering of the cabers and GTE logs. Conversation was excellent as usual and all five PAX stuck around for the main event – see next post… Yours AYE! ~DTH
